Tapvei 4HV is aspen bedding for laboratory animal cages. The bedding is made from untreated aspen wood (Populus tremula) and the 4HV grade has a documented particle size of 5 x 5 x 1 mm.
The bedding is processed through controlled drying, sieving and brushing steps. The documented process removes dust and rounds sharp edges, resulting in a low-dust bedding material with smooth edges. Technical characteristics include moisture content around 10%, relative density of 180-200 kg/m3, absorbing capacity of 260%, ammonium binding of 26 mg/L and dust content below 0.1% for particles below 0.25 mm.
Tapvei aspen bedding is suitable for automated bedding dispensers and is recommended for IVC isolators and automated systems. The bedding is autoclavable or can be supplied irradiated, biodegradable, dried using renewable bioenergy and documented with full batch analysis.
